Laura Nyhus, MS CCC-SLP

Laura Nyhus graduated from Minnesota State University-Moorhead in 2003 with a Master of Speech Language Pathology.  She joined the Perham Health team in 2011 after having practiced in Long Beach, CA, and Minneapolis, MN.  She has experience in both the adult and pediatric populations. 

While in California, she worked with children in an acute rehabilitation setting.  Throughout her practice in Minneapolis, she spent time working with adults at the University of Minnesota and children at Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare.  She has extensive experience with aural rehabilitation (cochlear implants), augmentative communication, feeding and swallowing, language development, stroke and traumatic brain injury. 

Laura has recently become certified in LSVT Loud – a new and successful treatment for people with Parkinson’s disease.

In her free time, Laura enjoys spending time with her family, being active, traveling and continued learning.  Laura completed a Master of Organizational Leadership through University of Northwestern-St. Paul in 2013.  She particularly enjoys running, going to church, and spending time at the lake.
