Brett Glawe, MD
As a general surgeon, Dr. Glawe specializes in the surgical treatment of a wide range of diseases and conditions involving the breast, stomach, esophagus, thyroid, pancreas, gallbladder, and intestinal tract. He treats skin cancers including those requiring plastic surgery. He provides a comfortable experience with colonoscopy and gastroscopy for screening or therapeutic purposes. His pediatric surgeries include tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, ear tubes, hernia repair, appendectomy and other emergencies. His passion is to provide his rural setting the highest quality surgical care with compassion and consideration in a timely fashion.

Medical education and training:
Dr. Glawe received his medical degree from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. He completed his general surgery residency through Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines, Iowa. He joined Perham Health in 2015. He is board certified in surgery. This means that he has fulfilled the necessary criteria established by the regulating board and has passed the examinations that accredit him in this field.
Philosophy of Care:
My goal is to improve and restore the quality of life for my patients, returning them to the activities they enjoy. I believe with passion, an open ear, thorough evaluation, and hard work we can work together to achieve this goal. I also think it is important to treat each patient as an individual with unique needs, provide patient education such that they can participate and feel confident in their care.
Off duty interests and activities:
In his free time, Dr. Glawe enjoys traveling, fishing, camping, unique foods, Broadway shows, and spending time with his wife, Michaela, and two children.
