Events & Classes - The Right Way to Fall

While no one wants to fall, the fact is that one-third of all people over the age of 65 will fall each year. A lot of good work goes into preventing falls, but no one ever teaches people HOW to fall, much less how to get back up again. Using proper techniques during a fall can mean the difference between a few scrapes and a broken hip or head injury.

Perham Health is hosting a special training session specifically for seniors aged 65 and older to teach them the proper way to fall and how to get back up to try and avoid injury. Soft mats will be available for practicing these skills.

The program will be facilitated by Perham Health physical therapists and take place at Perham Living in the Town Center from 3 to 4 p.m. May 23, 2018. The number of participants is limited and attendees should be physically able and willing to practice falling and getting back up in a safe environment.
