The League of American Bicyclists has recognized Perham Health with a Bronze Bicycle Friendly Business (BFB) award, earning it a place alongside 1,366 businesses across the country contributing to the movement to build a more Bicycle Friendly America.

Kicking off the New Year, Perham Health joins local businesses, government agencies, and Fortune 500 companies in all 50 states and Washington, DC, in a commitment to transform American workplaces to be more welcoming to customers and employees who bike.

“When places make it easier for people to choose to bike, they are building safer, stronger, and better-connected communities. The League of American Bicyclists is thrilled when organizations like Perham Health join us in this movement to build a more Bicycle Friendly America. When more people are biking to work or shop, life is better for everyone,” says Executive Director Bill Nesper of the League of American Bicyclists.

“We are dedicated to supporting a healthy workforce and helping our employees commute in alternative ways,” says Chuck Hofius, Perham Health CEO. “Employee wellness is important to Perham Health. To support our employee wellness efforts, the Perham Health Foundation has granted funds to purchase a small bike fleet for employees. The bikes will be available for employees to use on their breaks and to commute between our two campuses.  We further promote employee wellness opportunities with an on-campus paved bike/walking trail, biking education, and safe bike storage to make biking easier for employees.”

Also funded by the Perham Health Foundation grant, a bike fixit station will be installed in Spring 2020 on the Perham Health campus for employee and community use.
